Holy Name School Playground.
The outdoor courtyard serves as the primary play area for K-3 students. Bold colors and geometric shapes were integrated into the space to draw students in immediately. The design offers intimate spaces for imaginative play and open areas for group games and events. Unique features encourage creativity and self-expression, while versatile play structures invite children to create their own games and challenges. Low-maintenance play surfaces, including turf lawns and poured-in-place rubber, enhance durability, while new pathways allow easy circulation. A walking loop doubles as a racetrack and offers space for games like hopscotch and four-square. Boulders and log stumps serve as seating and challenge course elements, adding adventure to the space. Outdoor teaching areas enable customizable learning environments, while a butterfly garden demonstrates environmental processes in real time. The renovated courtyard will inspire countless children, nurturing their physical, creative, and social development for years to come.
