Cutting Edge Elegance.
The owner envisioned an ultra-contemporary home on a neighborhood lot. All components from room layouts, garages, and site features would be precisely symmetrical. He chose primarily precast concrete and Corten steel for the home construction.
The landscape architect positioned the entry drive on axis with the home. Flanking courtyards allow for masses of canopy trees to contrast with the minimalist architecture. A second-level glass corridor connects the two ends of the home with a view of a rooftop sculpture garden.
Once inside, two equally sized courtyards contain groves of Zelkova shade trees. Corten steel tree guards punctuate the stone ground plane and shield the uplighting.
This sophisticated design offers an aesthetic of restraint. The precast concrete, Corten steel, stone mulch, and simple mass plantings carry through this disciplined esthetic throughout the project. Less is more!
